The columnist said he learned of Plame's CIA employment from a source he still refuses to publicly identify, and then confirmed with Rove and then-CIA spokesman Bill Harlow, whose roles in talking to Novak have been previously reported.
But in his column that began circulating Tuesday night, Novak wrote: "I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in Who's Who in America.
Interestingly, the Washington Post chose not to mention that fact in its coverage of Novak's new revelations.
Interesting indeed. Maybe the whole thing is blown out of context.
Novak always used to be "in the loop". If the Post hasn't spun this in their devious way...my instincts may be totally off here.... but, me thinks there was some kind of falling out between Novak and "the loop" in the scuffle to stay out of jail?? Sounds like there's some bitterness on the Novak side of the chasm.
