The Archdiocese of Boston announced today that Kevin Shea, a veteran communications and public relations professional, has been appointed Media Relations Director for the Archdiocese.
The grocery guy wasn't panning out.
They sat around and sat around scratching their heads...and one day...somebody up at the Digs had an idea....the Red Sox seem to be popular in the media - let's get their guy.
“Kevin's experience in implementing many successful communications initiatives for the Boston Red Sox will be of great help to the Archdiocese. His reputation among colleagues in the media and participation in the life of the wider community recommend him for this important role. We welcome Kevin and look forward to his contributions to the work of the Church.”
I hope he wasn't involved in rounding up the Queer Eyes for the Straight Guys/Red Sox initiative.
Shea is the former Director of Media Relations/Communications for the Boston Red Sox (1990-2004). In his lead role with the Red Sox, he worked closely on a daily basis with members of the local, national and international print and electronic media. Shea was responsible for managing and overseeing the entire internal and external communications effort for the Red Sox including serving as spokesman and interacting daily with ownership, senior management, athletes, agents, sponsors, fans and other Red Sox constituents. He also played an instrumental role in the organization’s community relations and marketing initiatives. Most recently, Shea served as a strategic communications consultant..... In his spare time he serves as an ice hockey official for the Eastern College Athletic Conference, Hockey East and the NCAA.
There you go!!
Kevin O'Shea...the name rings a bell but I don't know why....
...could be worshiping at Tridentine for all I remember...and been the one person on the Queer Eyes/Red Sox projects that said it might not be such a swell idea...
